"I am very happy to write in support of Teen Mother Choices, Inc. During 2000-01 I was asked by the board of directors to lead a strategic planning process for TMC. The process resulted in a much clearer idea of TMC's mission, a new approach to development (in which a development consultant was also involved), and fresh understanding of board and staff roles. The board has now been significantly strengthened, and is under new and very competent leadership. Christa March, founder and executive director, is transitioning into the role of president and has already devolved most responsibility for service provision to her professional staff. The double mission of TMC - service provision in northern Illinois, and educational/consulting work throughout north America and sometimes internationally - has been clarified, with budget and other structural changes in process to reflect better these two components.
