Mentors

Each teenage mother involved in Teen Mother Choices is paired up with a Mentor. This Mentor is a married Christian woman who is herself a mother and is experiencing the joys and frustrations of motherhood. Much of the emotional support a teenage mother receives through Teen Mother Choices is provided through this relationship.

Lifeskills Workshops

Teen Mother Choices is concerned with reaching the many life roles a teenage mother plays. Through volunteer experts, topics such as Budgeting, Time Management, and Basic First-Aid are addressed in Lifeskills Workshops. Teen Mother Choices provides a home cooked meal, served family style, before each of its Lifeskills Workshops. These workshops are held weekly.

Child Care

Teen Mother Choices offers teenage mothers financial assistance in paying for their childcare while they attend school and in some cases while they work. This financial assistance is based upon the teenage mother's own financial situation.

Guidance and Support in Setting Goals

Each teenage mother involved with Teen Mother Choices works with her Director and Mentor on goals. Goals are set in the following catagories: Physical, Educational, Financial, Personal, and Spiritual. Goals are reviewed and new goals are set every six months.

Referrals

Teen Mother Choices works with other local organizations and agencies to refer teenage mothers when necessary.
