Thanking Volunteers

This past week, the Gurnee and Arlington Heights offices of Teen Mother Choices and the week before the Antioch office, held their annual Volunteer Appreciation evenings. These events gave the teen mothers working with Teen Mother Choices the opportunity to say "thank you" to the many volunteers that make this ministry possible. This year, as last year and the years before that, a volunteer approaches me and says,

"Christa, I don't need to be thanked. I just like to serve."

The volunteers who say these types of statements truly are serving for the right reasons; they love God and want to serve Him by serving teen mothers. And it is those very volunteers we want to honor and thank.

The Bible says we are to encourage one another to do great things. Volunteer Appreciation is about recognizing what has been done and encouraging others to join in.
